At -40 Degrees Celsius and Fahrenheit are the same.
There is a big difference between the Celsius and Fahrenheit temperature scales. In Celsius water freezes at 0 and boils at 100. In Fahrenheit water freezes at 32 and boils at 180. For every 9 degrees the temperature moves in Fahrenheit it moves 5 in Celsius. This means that the one point at which the scale is equal is -40 degrees.
Smelly flatulence can lower blood pressure.
In 2008 a study was released that showed Hydrogen Sulfide reduced the blood pressure of mice. This is important because Hydrogen Sulfide is also the gas that makes farts stink. In particular it creates the rotten egg smell that a really bad fart has. So there is some good news for people with really smelly farts, it might be helping you keep your blood pressure down. This could add years to your life, which is mixed news for the people that have to be around you all the time.
The crack of a bullwhip is a sonic boom.
When a bullwhip is properly used the crack sound it creates is actually a mini sonic boom. A sonic boom is created when an object passes the speed of sound. Listerine invented bad breath.
One of the greatest stories from the history of advertising is the tale of Listerine. Listerine was first invented 1879 and has an interesting beginning. It was sold as a surgical antiseptic, a cure for gonorrhea, and a floor cleaner. It did not take off in popularity until 1921 when it was sold as a cure for bad breath. Bad breath is a common concern of people all around the world today. The gum, mint, and mouth wash industry all count on people being self conscience about their breath to sell products, but it was not always that way. It was Listerine in the 1920s that invented the term Halitosis and told everyone they had bad breath. They also mentioned that Listerine can cure this bad breath. It was marketing genius, they managed to invent a disease that they just happened to have the cure for.
Facebook was originally only for Harvard students.
Facebook takes its name from the “face books” that would be published by universities to help students get to know each other. The facebook website was created by Harvard students and originally only students at that school were allowed to have accounts. Availability of the service then spread to Boston area schools, the Ivy League, and then all colleges and universities, an then high schools. Since 2006 the site has been available to anyone over the age of 13 with an email account. There are currently more than 400 million facebook users, which equals a lot of event invitations from people you went to high school with and were never really close with, but accepted their friend request to be polite.

Only 2% of the population has red hair… naturally.
Red hair may be seen on a lot of people but it only occurs naturally in about 2% of the population. This makes it the rarest of hair colours. The color is much more frequent amongst people of North and Western European background, where it can be seen in up to 6% of the population. The rarity of red hair has led to a lot of mismatched carpets and drapes.
